    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Things have turned complicated for both Milan and Atalanta after Jashari's fracture, which is set to keep the Swiss star out for eight weeks. Ivan Juric's side had scouted United States international Musah as one of the primary transfers this season but will have to remain patient and wait for Milan to work things out and come back with a response. However, the transfer window shuts next week, and the club will have to act quickly should they want the transfer to go through.

Atalanta are also interested in signing their long-time target Lutsharel Geertruida from RB Leipzig but face stiff competition. The Bergamo-based club lost out on signing him to the German side last year, but coach Ole Werner appears to prefer Ridle Baku in his position, making a move a possibility. Premier League side Nottingham Forest are also interested in the Dutch player and have been keeping tabs.
